The AJ Bell Great Scottish Run is a 10K and Half Marathon organised by the Great Run Company on closed roads through the heart of Glasgow.
Both races start on St Vincent Street and take runners through the city before finishing on Glasgow Green. The routes showcase Glasgow's architecture, landmarks and green spaces, with enthusiastic crowd support, music and entertainment adding to the atmosphere. The 10K features an early climb followed by an extended downhill section and a predominantly flat second half, while the Half Marathon includes more climbing through its middle miles before a largely downhill or flat final five miles.
Runners are allocated to waves according to expected finish time and timing chips are incorporated into race numbers. Finishers receive an AJ Bell Great Scottish Run medal and finisher's bag, with an optional technical T shirt available. The event also provides live tracking and split times through the Great Run app.
