Great Scottish Run

Make Your Run Matter This October

Great Scottish Run is a celebration of Scottish running, and also Scottish charities...

There are now around 14 weeks until one of Scotland's most popular events gets underway. Which means now's the time to make the decision to run - especially if the Great Scottish Run's half marathon is on your hit list!

Taking place on 2 October in Glasgow, the Great Scottish Run incorporates two distances - 10K and Half Marathon and for the youngsters there is a Junior event the day before.

Join thousands of others and meander round the streets of Scotland's largest city - from urban areas to green spaces past some of the city’s most famous landmarks. Starting in the heart of the city, runners soak up the atmosphere and music all the way to the finish in Glasgow Green, passing entertainment zones every kilometre.

An inclusive celebration of Scottish running, with music blazing, crowds buzzing, legs pumping and fists bumping Glasgow really does come alive on Great Scottish Run weekend. But it's not only a celebration of running, it is also a celebration of Scotland's charities with countless runners making the decision to run to causes close to their hearts.

One charity who would love you to enhance your Great Scottish Run experience by running for them is MND Scotland, the leading charity in Scotland providing care and support to people affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND), as well as funding vital research into finding a cure.

A spokesperson from the charity said: "The money you raise will help to change the lives of people across Scotland affected by MND, as well as fund vital research."
