When runABC spoke to the Great Run Company this week, fewer than 200 places remained in the Half Marathon, while entries for the 10K were also selling fast. With race day on Sunday 4 October, the opportunity to join Glasgow's biggest ever Great Scottish Run weekend is disappearing.
More than 35,000 runners are expected across the weekend, from the youngest taking part in Saturday's Junior and Mini events to thousands tackling the 10K and Half Marathon on Sunday.
We have spent our countdown looking at what makes this year's event different and what runners can expect. There is a new Country Mile music zone, personal messages at the AJ Bell Motivation Station, a free race day photo opportunity and a new GreatRunTV live show bringing the action to those following from home.
Then there is Glasgow itself.
Both Sunday races start on St Vincent Street and finish on Glasgow Green. The 10K offers a largely fast course incorporating four bridges and a long stretch beside the Clyde, while Half Marathon runners continue towards Bellahouston and Pollok Country Park before turning back towards the city and that final run through McLennan Arch.
The people lining those streets remain just as important as the landmarks. First timers, charity runners, club athletes and PB hunters will all share the roads, with Glasgow's famously enthusiastic support accompanying them towards the finish.
Eilish McColgan will be there too, ringing the start bell for the Half Marathon, while Tartan Army fundraiser Craig Ferguson will send the 10K runners on their way.
Five stories ago, race day still seemed comfortably in the distance. It doesn't now.
Training plans have become final preparations and thousands of places have become fewer than 200 in the Half Marathon. If our countdown has persuaded you that Glasgow is where you want to be on 4 October, this really is the moment to make the decision.
