Great Scottish Run Announces 2022 Return

Early Bird entries to close Tuesday

Earlybird entries are now open for the Great Scottish Run, which will return to Glasgow on Sunday 2 October 2022. The popular event returns to the city’s streets next year, following cancellations due to the impact of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.

The 10K and Half Marathon events will start in George Square and will follow the traditional route, taking runners past some of the city’s most famous landmarks, along the River Clyde and through some of Glasgow’s greenest spaces, before a grandstand finish in Glasgow Green.

Earlybird entry prices of £26 for the 10K and £31 for the Half Marathon are available for a limited time only, before moving to the standard prices of £32 and £39 from Tuesday 9 November.

Paul Foster, of the Great Run Company, said: “Thanks for sticking with us while we’ve worked to safely bring the Great Scottish Run back to Glasgow.

“After a very long wait, we’re excited to get to work on delivering a memorable comeback for Scotland’s biggest and best running event.

“Seeing tens of thousands of runners lined up together in George Square, ready to conquer personal goals, raise money and have fun is an amazing spectacle and we can't wait to see it at the Great Scottish Run once again.”

Over 20,000 runners took part in the 2019 staging of the event, which raised over £3 million for charity. Next year’s event expects to see similar participation numbers, many of whom will be raising money for worthy causes. Entrants of all ages and levels of ability will be taking part alongside a competitive elite field. Entries for the Junior & Mini Great Scottish Run on Saturday 1 October are also now open. The popular kids events give budding running stars a big event experience and the chance to claim their own finisher’s medal.
