What’s New At The Great Scottish Run
Sign up for this year's Great Scottish Run and it is more than just a great course you can look forward to...
There’s only one month to go until this year’s AJ Bell Great Scottish Run and entries are flying! The 10K and half marathon races will both return to the wonderful city of Glasgow on Sunday 6 October with organisers promising that proceedings will be 'bigger and better' than ever before.
So what specifically is going to make the 2024 edition of the west coast classic the best ever? A spokesperson from Great Run told us: "Get ready for beats from the brand-new finish line DJ, welcoming you across the finish line in Glasgow Green. Indeed this year’s Après Run is going to be a party you do not want to miss out on.
"You can also make sure you celebrate your achievement in style at the finish in the brand new bar from Jim and Tonic, and then fuel up after all your hard work with a selection of fantastic local food options including: Jalapenos (an amazing range of Mexican-style food), Dough Man’s Land (delicious wood fired pizza), Lemon Squeezy (yummy flatbreads), Maclaurin’s Bar (coffee, hot drinks and snacks), and a Street Diner offering breakfast items and hot drinks."
So you are clearly going to be well taken care of at the end of the actual racing, but what about on the course? We are excited to reveal that bag pipers at the start of every mile are back this year - always a highlight and a real boost to keep going around the course.
Back to Glasgow Green, and organisers tell us you should keep your eyes peeled for freebies being given out in the Event Village. You can also enjoy a post-run massage from the team in the TUI massage zone.
So you can see this year’s Great Scottish Run really does look like it will be the best yet, so sign up today to be involved in Scotland’s greatest festival of running!
