The AJ Bell Great Scottish Run has revealed its 2026 finisher medal as thousands of runners prepare to take over the streets of Glasgow on Sunday 4 October.

Week two of our five week runABC countdown puts the spotlight on the reward waiting beyond the finish line, and this year's design is unmistakably Scottish.

Inspired by the Saltire, the medal incorporates details associated with Glasgow, including the Squinty Bridge, McLennan Arch and River Clyde, alongside influences from Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Turn it over and there is another Glasgow connection, with an embossed Mackintosh Rose completing the design. The 10K medal also uses colours inspired by Scotland's national flower.

It is a fitting reward for an event built around the city itself. The AJ Bell Great Scottish Run gives runners the choice of a 10K or Half Marathon, with both providing a chance to experience Glasgow on a weekend when running takes centre stage.

More than 35,000 participants are expected across the weekend in 2026, bringing together runners chasing personal bests, tackling a new distance and raising money for charity.

For those still deciding whether to join them, the organisers have made their message simple. Do not just admire the medal. Earn it.
