Musical Motivation At Great Scottish Run

There are some all new musical elements for this year's Great Scottish Run...

Runs don't get much greater than the Great Scottish Run and with race organisers planning to introduce some exciting new elements to this year's event (2 October), there's never been a better time to sign up!

The Great Scottish Run is already one of the country's most popular events, and righly so. It offers runners in Scotland a phenomenal atmosphere with crowds roaring support from start to finish. The route is first-rate too - with iconic landmarks and unbeatable views throughout, not to mention the rocking on course music and entertainment zones which include local bands and charity cheering buses.

So how can you improve on something that's already ticking all the boxes? A spokesperson from Great Run told us: "There will be even more on course music and entertainment, with brand new upbeat, quirky zones to keep spirits and motivation high."

These new zones sound amazing… Run Thru will be a high energy and slightly bonkers zone which guarantees a lot of noise - think 50 metres of madness and you’re somewhere near! It is perhaps worth noting that runners who are sensitive to noise will have the option to Run Thru or sidestep this zone.

Next up there will be the Pump It Up zone which organisers promise will get legs pumping that little bit quicker to the finish line. Powered by an awesome DJ Truck, motivation levels are sure to skyrocket.

Beats Boost zone will bring runners another epic DJ Truck, perfectly positioned to give runners another burst of energy while People’s Playlist will play tunes chosen by runners themselves.

And the musical motivation will not be solely provided by these exciting zones as pacers powered by music will be blasting out tunes all along the course to keep enthusiasm sky high.

After so much fun on offer throughout the course, runners will be delighted to know that the finish line is not the end of the partying as celebrations will continue with a brand new Apres Run zone. Runners, families and friends can kick back, relax and enjoy the post-race buzz here, with more great music from a Heart DJ providing the tunes.
