Trentham 10K Combines Fast Racing With Green Thinking

Country lanes await at Trentham...

The Trentham 10K returns to Staffordshire on 2 August 2026 with runners once again heading to Wedgwood Cricket Club for one of the Midlands’ best established summer road races. Organised by Trentham Running Club, the event combines undulating country roads around Barlaston with a growing focus on sustainability and community driven racing.

The race replaced the former John Oultram 10 mile route several years ago and has since developed into a popular fixture within the North Staffs Road Runners Association calendar. The route offers a rolling challenge through Staffordshire countryside lanes, giving runners enough variation to keep the race competitive while remaining accessible for a wide range of abilities.

Trentham Running Club continues to place sustainability at the centre of the event. Organisers have again confirmed paper cups, zero plastic water bottles and optional medals for runners who want to reduce waste. Runners are also encouraged to car share, refill their own bottles and help minimise the environmental impact of race day.

The club itself has built a strong reputation within the local running scene for its welcoming atmosphere and broad mix of runners, from beginners through to experienced marathon and ultra runners. Training groups, race support and community involvement continue to play a major role in the club’s identity across Staffordshire.

One of the reasons the Trentham 10K remains popular is the balance between competitive racing and a more relaxed club organised atmosphere. The event attracts serious club runners chasing NSRRA points while still maintaining a friendly feel around race headquarters at Wedgwood Cricket Club.

Entries are open now for the 2026 edition, with runners able to choose between standard entry or medal options ahead of the August return to Barlaston.
