Stroud Half Marathon returns on Sunday 25 October 2026, offering runners an autumn road race that organisers describe as suitable for racers, recreational runners and novices alike.
The race starts and finishes on Cainscross Road, adjacent to the Marling School playing field, with the field getting under way at 9:00am.
For runners arriving with a particular finishing time in mind, one useful feature will be the team of volunteer pacers. Groups are planned for 1:30, 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30 and 2:45, covering a broad range of Half Marathon targets.
That should make the event particularly appealing to anyone chasing a personal best or attempting to reach a new milestone over 13.1 miles. The organisers also highlight the potential for fast times while welcoming runners taking on the distance more recreationally.
Competitors planning their race morning should note that there is no parking at Marling School. Car parks are available around Stroud, with the maximum walk to the start expected to be around 10 to 15 minutes.
Drink stations will provide cups around the course and at the finish.
Bone conducting headphones are permitted, but conventional in ear headphones are not allowed and runners ignoring the rule face disqualification.
With pacers covering six target times and a course with a reputation for speed, Stroud provides plenty of incentive for runners with a specific number in mind this October.
Entries are available now via the runABC race hub.
