Bridgnorth 10K returns on Sunday 18 October 2026, bringing runners into the heart of one of Shropshire's most distinctive market towns for an undulating road race with plenty of character.

Organised by Bridgnorth Running Club, the 10K starts and finishes at Bridgnorth Town Hall on High Street. From there, runners tackle a course that makes full use of the town's varied terrain rather than offering an easy route to a fast time.

Among the streets on the itinerary are Castle Walk, Cartway, Wenlock Road, Ludlow Road, Bridge Street and Railway Street. The route also takes runners close to the River Severn as it winds through Bridgnorth before returning to the Town Hall.

The hills are an important part of the challenge. Cartway and Railway Street provide notable tests, although the changing gradients also offer downhill stretches where runners can recover some momentum.

Race morning registration opens beneath the Town Hall at 9:00am and closes at 10:30am, ahead of the 11:00am start. The course is fully marshalled and signposted, with a water station at the halfway point.

Runners should also be prepared for open roads. Competitors are required to keep left, follow the instructions of marshals and run without headphones.

Bridgnorth Running Club has deliberately kept the race closely connected to its home town, and that local identity extends beyond the course. The event has developed a reputation for strong community support and has sold out in previous years.

Every finisher receives a souvenir T shirt and medal, while prizes will be awarded to the first three male and female runners.

For anyone who believes a memorable 10K needs more than a perfectly flat road, Bridgnorth provides hills, history and a finish right in the centre of town.
