Walton Hall 10K returns on Sunday 18 October 2026, giving runners the chance to explore the Warwickshire countryside while supporting the work of Shipston Home Nursing.
The annual event is based at Walton Hall near Wellesbourne, a 16th century mansion standing in 65 acres of countryside overlooking a lake.
This is very much a country 10K rather than a conventional road race. The route takes participants through nearby woods and into the village of Walton before returning to the Hall. Organisers describe it as cross country with some sections of road, while the precise route can be adjusted depending on weather conditions.
Runners will have electronic timing, with the 10K starting at 10:00am following registration from 8:45am. Participants can enter individually or put together a team with friends or colleagues.
There is also a more relaxed side to the event. Walkers are welcome to complete the route, while dogs can join participants provided they are kept on a lead. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Every entry includes a bacon or vegetarian roll at the finish, providing a particularly welcome incentive after a morning on the trails.
Most importantly, the event raises funds for Shipston Home Nursing, which provides hospice care at home. Entrants can create their own fundraising page and encourage friends and family to support their challenge.
With countryside, community and a good cause at its heart, Walton Hall 10K offers an autumn race where the finishing time is only part of the story.
