Oswestry 10K returns on Sunday 11 October, when runners will take over fully closed roads for a one lap journey through the Shropshire town and surrounding area.

Organised by Adrenaline Sporting Events, the race starts at 9:00am, with music and flags adding to the atmosphere around the start and finish. The route follows Church Street, Morda Road, Nant Lane, Trefonen Road, Oswestry Road and Upper Brook Street before returning to the town centre.

Organisers describe it as an undulating and challenging course that can still reward runners looking for a fast time. Much of the route is on town roads before a more scenic section towards the latter stages. The 90 minute cut off also gives a broad range of runners the opportunity to take part, from nervous first timers to experienced competitors.

There are prizes for the first three men and women alongside 14 age group awards, while every finisher receives a medal. Hope House is the event's charity partner.

With closed roads, spectators able to support runners around much of the route and a town centre finish waiting at the end, Oswestry 10K offers the kind of race morning where the runners really do take over the streets.
