Pick Your Distance For A Peak District Adventure
Three distances and some spectacular Peak District scenery await runners at the Derbyshire Dales Trail Run from Bakewell on 13 September...
This relates to: Derbyshire Dales Trail Run
The Derbyshire Dales Trail Run returns on Sunday 13 September 2026, offering three different ways to explore some of the Peak District's best known landscapes on foot.
Starting from Bakewell Showground, runners can choose between 21.5K, 15K and 9.1K routes. The adventure takes in the Monsal Trail and River Derwent before heading through rolling countryside and the picturesque village of Edensor, with views towards the Chatsworth House estate adding another memorable feature to the journey.
There is plenty of climbing to go with those views. The 21.5K carries around 400m of elevation, while the 15K has 306m and the 9.1K around 166m. A descent towards the latter stages is followed by another climb through Manners Wood before runners make their way towards the finish.
The three distances set off separately, with the 21.5K starting at 8:45am, followed by the 15K at 9:00am and 9.1K at 9:15am. Routes will be marked with pink arrows and tape, with marshals, water stations and first aid support around the course.
Run Rebel is operating the event as plastic free, so runners are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle for the water stations. Combat Stress is the Derbyshire Dales Trail Run's Charity of the Year for 2026.
For anyone struggling to choose between a good trail run and a day exploring the Peak District, this could provide a particularly satisfying way of doing both.
Entries are still available for next weekend via the runABC race hub here.
