Eccup 10 Keeps Giving

Fundraising and fun are at the heart of this Yorkshire event...

The Hollybank Eccup 10 road race will return to the north Leeds running calendar on 5 July as organisers prepare for the 33rd staging of the much-loved event. Hosted by Abbey Runners, the race is widely regarded as one of the most scenic road events in the region with the route following closed country roads around Eccup Reservoir, taking runners through the rolling countryside north of the city.

Alongside the headline 10 mile race, a 5 mile option will once again be available, following a shortened version of the same picturesque route. The event also features a programme of junior races at the nearby Bedquilts Recreation Ground, helping to turn race day into a family friendly morning.

The race is organised in partnership with the Hollybank Trust, which supports people with profound and multiple disabilities. Abbey Runners will make a donation from race proceeds to both the Hollybank Trust and the club’s nominated charity for 2026, The Hygiene Bank, with entrants also given the opportunity to add their own donation when signing up.

The Hollybank Eccup 10 has become one of the most established races in the Yorkshire road running calendar and was recognised by England Athletics in 2025, when it received an award nomination highlighting its impact both as a sporting occasion and as a major local fundraising effort.

Since 2018 the race has helped raise more than £24,000 for local charities, including over £18,500 for the Hollybank Trust. Organised entirely by club volunteers, the event typically attracts up to 1,000 runners and features a range of community touches including junior races and charity fundraising activities.
