Run A Piece Of History At The Heckington 10

Historic 10 mile race returns...

This relates to: Heckington 10

The Heckington 10 returns on Saturday 25 July 2026, bringing runners back to one of the East Midlands' most historic road races as part of the famous Heckington Show.

First staged in 1965, the Heckington 10 is recognised as the oldest road race in the East Midlands and has become a long standing highlight of the summer running calendar. Organised in collaboration with Sleaford Striders Athletics Club, the race combines competitive 10 mile road running with the unique atmosphere of England's largest village show.

The race starts and finishes in the Heckington Showground arena before heading onto local Lincolnshire roads. The route offers a traditional road racing experience, with runners returning to the showground to complete their challenge in front of spectators enjoying the day's festivities.

Every race entry includes admission to the Heckington Show, allowing runners and supporters to enjoy everything the event has to offer after crossing the finish line. Finishers receive an official event T-shirt, while chip timing from Sublime Timing ensures accurate results throughout the field.

With the race limited to 450 runners each year, places are always in demand. The combination of sporting history, community atmosphere and the opportunity to experience one of England's best known village shows makes the Heckington 10 a truly distinctive event on the summer racing calendar.

For runners looking to experience one of the country's classic road races, the Heckington 10 continues to offer a memorable blend of tradition, competition and community spirit more than six decades after it was first established.

A limited number of entries remain via Sublime Timing here.
