The Wild One 2026

Run Solo Or As A Team At The Wild One

Charity marathon with relay options...

This relates to: Wild One

The Wild One returns to Worcester on 12 July 2026, offering runners a fun and flexible way to tackle marathon and half marathon distances while raising funds for Worcester Acute Stroke Ward and the Community Stroke Team.

Based at Old Elizabethans Cricket Club, the event combines a relaxed atmosphere with a variety of race formats. Participants can take on the full marathon solo over ten laps, complete a five lap half marathon, or share the marathon distance with friends through relay options for pairs and teams of five.

The multi terrain course covers a 2.62 mile lap featuring a mixture of grass, woodland trails and tarmac. The format allows runners to enjoy regular support from spectators while providing an accessible introduction to longer distance running and relay racing.

One of the event's distinctive features is its team element. Relay participants can divide the ten laps however they choose, creating opportunities for runners of different abilities to work together towards a marathon finish. Whether taking on the challenge alone or sharing it with teammates, the event offers a welcoming environment for experienced runners and newcomers alike.

Adding to the occasion is the optional fancy dress competition, with this year's theme being Wild Animals. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest marathon performances, fastest lap and best fancy dress, while all finishers receive a bespoke medal and goody bag.

Families can also get involved through the Wild Mile, a one mile children's race staged before the main event. Combined with on site parking, refreshments, a bar, ice cream van and picnic friendly surroundings, the event creates a festival atmosphere throughout the day.

With marathon, half marathon and relay options alongside a strong charity focus, The Wild One continues to offer a unique summer running experience in Worcestershire.
