How you can become an Ultra Londoner
When a marathon isn't quite enough you need Ultra London to fill the gap
The Great Run Company launched Ultra London in 2019 and the event has since been refined and improved to the current offer of a spectacular 55K ultra-marathon or a 25K trail run that uses the southern half of the surprisingly green Capital Ring path around Greater London.
The distance depends on the start point - Woolwich for Ultra 55; Upper Norwood for Trail 25. Both races finish in leafy Richmond. There is a little elevation involved – 385m of climbing in the 25K race and 740m in the 55K run – but no mountaineering or even navigational skills are required. This is a perfect introduction to trail running or ultra-marathons and with an early bird saving of £10 now is the time to grab a number for the 2022 event on Saturday 8 October.
