New 5K For Coldstream
There's a new 5K coming to The Borders this September...
A brand new race is coming to the Borders this autumn with the launch of the Hirsel 5K, a fundraising trail run organised by Presenting Coldstream. The event will take place on 21 September and is set against the stunning backdrop of the old Hirsel Golf Club.
Runners will take on a fully marshalled route that winds through woodland and across the former golf course, with organisers promising a course that balances fun and challenge. The event is aimed at all abilities, whether local residents, visitors or runners travelling from further afield.
The Hirsel 5K will raise funds for Coldstream’s civic week, but it will also offer a chance for athletes to chase a personal best. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest male, female and under-15 competitors.
To get runners ready for the start line, local gym KDFIT will lead an official warm-up, while businesses from the community will be on hand afterwards with snacks and refreshments for those looking to refuel.
The course will start and finish at the old Hirsel Golf Club, with the exact route to be confirmed once current tree felling work has been completed. Organisers say it promises to be an unforgettable day of running, fun and community spirit in Coldstream.
