Up and Running Races

Half The Distance, All The Fun

Whether you run 10K or 5K, these Glasgow events offer a fantastic experience on every level...

The Up and Running Pollok Park 10K will return to Glasgow on 24 August with a fresh new look and a revamped route through one of the city’s best parks. This year’s event introduces a one-lap 5K course for the first time, offering participants a scenic, easy-to-follow loop without repeated sections, while the 10K will consist of two laps, making it ideal for those building up their distance.

Organisers promise an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere for runners of all abilities, whether they choose to walk, jog, run or mix it up. Supporters can expect a lively event with music, cheering marshals and a buzzing finish line. Every participant will receive a newly designed finishers’ medal, keeping the tradition of rewarding effort while refreshing the look for 2025.

The event is already proving popular, attracting entries from first-timers to seasoned club runners. Past participant Lucy Malone praised the atmosphere: “Such an incredible atmosphere and a place where you can push yourself whilst having the best time. Can’t wait for the next!”

An Up and Running Events spokesperson added: “Our runs are for everyone. Whether you are just starting out and doing your first 5K or leading the pack with years of running experience, we’re here for you. We currently hold monthly races in parks around Glasgow and hope to expand across Scotland soon.”

For those who can’t make the August date, other Up and Running Events are planned for the city later in the year, including Kelvingrove Park on 14 September, Queen’s Park on 26 October and Bellahouston Park on 16 November.
