Wooler Trail Races

Beauty & The Beast

You’ll soon see why these challenging but stunning trail races have earned the nickname Beauty & The Beast…

Do you fancy the chance to test yourself by running one of the most challenging trail events in the UK? Set in the heart of Northumberland National Park, the Wooler Trail Races (offering both half and full marathon distances) offer just that opportunity.

Organised by Trail Outlaws, one of the north east's most exciting running events companies, the races will be staged over the weekend of 20/21 November in Northumberland’s Cheviot Hills.

Both races start in the pretty village of Wooler before heading out towards some of the best views in the country, if not the world. Both races are equally deserving of the 'Beauty' nickname - runners are guaranteed splendid, uninterrupted views to the far horizon - perfect inspiration to keep going and conquer the distance.

But remember, there is another part to that nickname - Beast! And so it should be noted that these are challenging events with the Half taking in over 2400 feet of ascent and the full marathon just over 6000, but as organisers are keen to stress ‘the views are well worth the effort’.

The race is split across two days with the marathon on Saturday and half on Sunday, entrants have the option to take part in both distances should they wish to test themselves and, allowing everyone to unwind post race, there will be a party night in Wooler on the Sunday evening!
