Ponton Plod

Scenic Routes & Sweet Rewards

With its mix of scenic countryside and post-race pudding this Lincolnshire event is a must-do...

The Ponton Plod will be back on 14 September, offering participants the chance to take on a choice of distances from Great Ponton in Lincolnshire while raising funds for local charities. The event features routes of 10K, 12 miles, 17 miles or 26 miles, all of which must be completed within a generous ten-hour time limit.

The courses take in a mix of footpaths, bridleways, tracks and quiet country roads, passing through picturesque Lincolnshire villages on the way towards the Vale of Belvoir. Open to both runners and walkers, the Ponton Plod has built a reputation for its friendly atmosphere, beautiful countryside and legendary refreshments.

Checkpoints along the way will be stocked with homemade treats, while the finish line will serve up hearty food and the event’s much-loved puddings. All food and drink is included in the entry fee. Organisers, Notfast Running Club, revealed that Boston Community Runners currently lead the table for the most club entries in 2025, closely followed by Grantham Running Club, and are encouraging more running groups to get involved and enjoy the day.

Proceeds from the event will be shared between the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, Newark Women’s Aid and the Children’s Bereavement Centre, ensuring the challenge benefits the wider community as well as those taking part.
