Running Under The Edge
Head to The Cotswolds for a memorable day of multi-terrain running...
The popular 10,000m Under the Edge race will return to the Cotswolds on 14 September, organised once again by Wotton Lions to raise funds for community-based projects.
Now in its seventh year, the event will feature a brand new multi-terrain course designed to be both challenging and enjoyable for runners of all abilities. The route follows public footpaths and minor roads along the western edge of the market town of Wotton-under-Edge.
The new course will not only take you through the beautiful countryside beneath the Cotswold escarpment, but this year organisers have permission to take runners through the fabulous grounds of Swinhay House. The striking modern stately home, which featured in the film Sherlock as the residence of a master blackmailer, will open its gates to participants for the first time.
Organisers say: "Last year’s event was rated 9.2 out of 10 by runners, and so the 2025 edition reflects feedback from participants, promising improvements to the course and facilities."
Free parking will be available at the Renishaw site in Wotton-under-Edge, along with ample race facilities. Food and drink will also be on sale before and after the race to help runners and supporters refuel. All finishers will receive a commemorative medal, with the option to purchase the popular 10,000m Under the Edge technical running top.
