10,000 Reasons To Run Skye
A new 10K distance will run alongside this year's Skye Half Marathon...
There has been a big announcement from Skye Half Marathon HQ, with news this week that the popular island event will be joined by a 10K distance in 2023. Announcing on social media, organisers commented: "We've launched a 10K race on the Isle of Skye, same time as the Isle of Skye Half Marathon. So if a half's not your vibe, join us for this brand new race."
Scheduled for 10 June, as with the Half Marathon, this will be a chip timed run that follows a single-track, closed road through brooding, dramatic but spectacular countryside. There are limited places available for the inaugural run, so if you fancy taking part then advice is to sign up fast!
Renowned for its strong community, friendly welcome, and a race run on closed roads, the Skye Half Marathon sells out every year and all the signs are pointing to the 10K following suit with runners keen to experience the peace and tranquility of the beautiful, remote Isle of Skye - home to some of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes.
Thought by many to be the premier race in the Scottish Hebrides the Skye Half Marathon is also part of the Heb 3 Challenge, the longest running half marathon series in Scotland, beginning in 1990.
