Heb 3 Back For 2023

Head west for the Heb 3 Challenge...

The ‘Heb 3’, has been on the go for over 30 years and after a lapse of three years due to COVID it is hoped that 2023 will see a full return of the challenge which sees runners complete three Hebridean island Half Marathons – Stornoway, Skye and Harris, all in the same year.

This is the longest running half marathon series in Scotland, beginning in 1990. The series opens with the Stornoway half marathon at the end of May and ends with the Harris half marathon at the beginning of July. Each race is unique but they all share amazing scenery and a warm Hebridean welcome, with post race ceilidh celebrations to beat anywhere else!

Speaking about the return of the challenge, organisers said: "The Heb 3 is back a bhalaich! For the first time since 2019 we have a series for you, three races have confirmed they are taking place this summer. So lets go for a three race Heb 3!"

In order to take part in the challenge you must register your intention online in advance to assist in the organisation of the event, it should be noted that there is no separate entry fee for the Heb 3 race series over and above individual race entries. You then need to enter each of the races independently; Stornoway Half Marathon will be taking place on 27 May, Isle of Skye Half Marathon on 10 June and Harris Half Marathon on 8 July.

All runners who complete the Heb 3 will receive a 'money can’t buy memento'. Organisers have said: "In the past this included pottery and T-shirts, this year we will have something new watch this space!"
