The Saltire Trail Races return to East Lothian on 14 June bringing a mix of competitive running and community celebration to the historic village of Athelstaneford, the birthplace of Scotland’s national flag. Held within the stunning Kilduff Estate, the event offers something for everyone, with a 10K, 5K and a 2K fun race for children of all ages.
The races take place on private land, featuring a varied mix of trail, tarmac and field boundaries, all with the scenic backdrop of the East Lothian countryside. With no road crossings, the routes provide a safe yet exhilarating challenge for runners of all levels.
The event isn’t just about racing though, participants and spectators can soak up the lively atmosphere of the Athelstaneford Village Summer Fair, where BBQs, drinks, cakes and games promise a great day out for the whole family.
Finisher’s medals will be awarded to all runners, with trophies for the fastest male and female runners as well as a £100 cash prize for the winners of the 5K and 10K events.
