13 Valleys Ultra 2026

2 Valleys Trail Offers Final Chance To Join 13 Valleys 2026

Final places remain for 13 Valleys...

The Altra 13 Valleys Ultra returns to the Lake District in September 2026 with all ultra distance races already sold out, leaving the 2 Valleys Trail as the remaining opportunity for runners to experience one of the UK’s fastest growing trail running events.

Set within the Lake District National Park, the wider 13 Valleys concept celebrates the distinct valleys that shape the UNESCO World Heritage landscape. The event has quickly built a strong reputation among trail and ultra runners, attracting competitors from across the UK and overseas to take on routes through some of Britain’s best known mountain scenery.

While the 55K, 110K and 180K ultra distances have already reached capacity, organisers have confirmed that places remain available in the 22K 2 Valleys Trail. The shorter distance offers runners the chance to experience the atmosphere and scenery of the wider event without committing to a full ultra marathon challenge.

The 2 Valleys Trail still delivers a demanding day on the trails, combining Lake District climbs, technical terrain and flowing sections around valleys and lakes. The route is designed to remain accessible for runners moving into trail racing while still offering enough challenge to appeal to experienced off road runners.

One of the major attractions for runners is the event’s balance between large scale atmosphere and remote mountain scenery. Despite its rapid growth, the 13 Valleys Ultra continues to centre its identity around the landscape itself, with routes designed to showcase the valleys, lakes and mountain passes that define the national park.

With the ultra races already sold out, attention is now turning towards the remaining 2 Valleys Trail entries as runners look for a final chance to be part of the 2026 event. Organisers are encouraging runners to secure places early while availability remains.
