Run For Jo Race Action

Remembering Jo

Will you run to remember Jo Cox this June?

The events of the last 48 hours certainly make the words of murdered MP Jo Cox more pertinent than ever, that 'we have far more in common than that which divides us' and Yorkshire's Run For Jo event will return in 2022 celebrating this very belief.

Run for Jo takes place annually and is organised by More in Common Batley & Spen as the headline event of the Jo Cox Foundation's Great Get Together Campaign. The run takes place around Jo's birthday each year with this year's event taking place on 26 June at Oakwell Hall and Country Park in Birstall, West Yorkshire.

Celebrating things that were important to Jo - this is a real day out for the whole family with food stalls, a bar, a mascots' race and entertainment. Runners have the option of 6.5K cross country challenge or 2.5K fun run and new for 2022 there will be a virtual 10K for those who can't be there on the day.

Kim Leadbeater, sister of Jo Cox and MP for Batley and Spen, said: “I am delighted that the Run for Jo will take place in real life at Oakwell Hall and Country Park once again.

“This year it will be fantastic to see people back at Oakwell taking part in person, as well as being able to join in wherever they are in a new virtual 10k for those who live further afield."
