Running wild in the country at the Nash and Boraston 10K Dash

Nash & Boraston Dash is a 10K smash!

Participants treated to superb views of the countryside at this challenging and tasty road race in rural Shropshire.

This relates to: Nash & Boraston 10K

The community was literally in action at last Sunday’s (27 November) Nash & Boraston 10K as runners took on a tough race whilst helping two local churches. They got their teeth into the course (and that final hill!) then again at the post-race refreshments...

Soup, cakes and sausage rolls were waiting for finishers at the Nash & Boraston 10K Dash after winding their way up and down this hilly route in a beautiful part of the country. Possibly not a race for a PB; however, a good event to round off the season and reward yourself with a treat or two.

Nearly 100 runners rose to the occasion on a damp, overcast morning, setting off from Nash church at 11am and onwards through Nash and neighbouring Boraston. This is the perfect place if you like a climb especially as the race is at the bottom of Clee Hill and includes a ford crossing for extra interest.

It was one-two again for Croft Ambrey RC with Eric Apperley first home in 36:30 followed by teammate Aidan Yapp in 36:52. Ryan Knight of Hereford Couriers RC was third in 37:19.

(Eric Apperley improved on his runner up place in last year’s race where he finished in 39:26).

Kate Jones of Builth & District RC was the first woman home in 47:31. Joanne Watson of Cleobury Mortimer RC finished second in 49:56 and Abi Knight of Hereford Couriers RC third in 51:33.

The last runner crossed the line in 1:27:30. There were 89 finishers who received a medal for their endeavours.

All the results are available via the runABC Midlands Race Listings

This was a well organised, marshalled and catered event to satisfy every type of runner whatever their appetite – for hills as well as cake.
