Historic Roads Await At The Battlefield Run
Scenic 10K and half marathon through historic Northamptonshire...
This relates to: Battlefield Run Naseby
The Battlefield Run returns on Sunday 30 August 2026, offering runners the choice of a scenic 10K or Half Marathon through the historic Northamptonshire countryside surrounding the village of Naseby.
Organised by Enduro Team, the event starts and finishes at Naseby Village Hall before heading out onto quiet country roads with sweeping views across the rolling landscape. The 10K follows a single loop, while Half Marathon runners complete two laps of the picturesque course, making it an event that appeals to both newcomers and experienced endurance runners.
Although the route is known for its predominantly fast profile, runners will still have to conquer the well-known Haselbech Hill before enjoying a flowing run back towards the finish. The combination of rolling roads, open countryside and excellent organisation has helped establish the race as a popular late summer fixture in the Midlands running calendar.
Race headquarters at Naseby Village Hall provides a friendly and welcoming base, with registration, parking and post race facilities all close to the start and finish. Every finisher receives a commemorative medal, while prizes are awarded across both race distances.
The event's location adds another layer of interest, with the course passing through an area steeped in English history. Naseby is forever associated with the decisive Battle of Naseby in 1645, giving runners the opportunity to experience roads and countryside that played a significant role in the English Civil War.
The Battlefield Run offers a rewarding blend of speed and challenge. Fast sections are balanced by testing climbs, making pacing an important part of the race, while the quiet rural roads provide an enjoyable setting throughout. Whether taking on the 10K or stepping up to the Half Marathon, runners can look forward to a memorable late summer race in one of Northamptonshire's most historic landscapes.
