Cayman Islands Sundown 5K

Dance to the Rum Bar rhythm after Sundown

Richmond RunFEST goes full-on Caribbean-theme for the Visit Cayman Islands Sundown 5K

After a year like no other in living memory, we all need to be able to look forward to a little sunshine and fun in our lives. How does a flat 5K in an ancient deer park sound? How about adding a truly Caribbean vibe and entertainment every 500m? Plus FREE BEER from Fuller's!

All that and more is yours, with a possible £5 off early bird entry if you are quick off the blocks. The Visit Cayman Islands Sundown 5K is a key component of Richmond RunFEST 2021 and the Cayman Islands themed race starts at 7:00pm on Saturday 11 September.

The course is two laps inside Old Deer Park, Richmond – which was originally connected to Richmond Palace and derives its name from the hunting ground created by James I in 1604. The land still belongs to the Crown and is used for a variety of recreation purposes.

The venue is bordered by the River Thames and is a truly scenic location to witness sundown. Participants will be able to sample a free beer from Fuller's of London and there will be live entertainment and Caribbean sounds on the Music Stage, with everyone's favourite dance no doubt being the Rum Bar!

Brentford FC CST, Marathon Kids, and Lions Sports Academy will be bringing a variety of multi-sport activities to entertain the kids throughout the afternoon. This will be a true family event as the Children with Cancer UK Kids' Mile races will open the programme with age-group races from 2:30pm.

Did you know, every week in the UK more than 70 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer? With your help, Richmond RunFEST is hoping to raise £35,000 from this event for sick children and to help Cancer UK Kids continue their life-saving work.
