The Denstone 10 returns on Sunday 30 August 2026, once again inviting runners to experience one of Staffordshire's most enjoyable multi terrain races through the beautiful Churnet Valley.

Starting and finishing at the impressive Denstone College, the 10 mile course heads through Denstone village before joining the traffic free Churnet Valley Way. The route combines quiet country lanes, former railway paths and well maintained trails, creating a varied challenge that showcases some of the area's finest countryside.

While much of the route follows a fast and largely flat profile through the valley, runners are greeted by a memorable climb on the return to Denstone before the final approach to the finish. The varied terrain rewards sensible pacing and offers an enjoyable balance of speed, scenery and challenge.

Participants can expect a professionally timed event with a fully marshalled course, bespoke finisher's mementos and prizes across a range of categories. An optional technical T-shirt is also available, while the event continues to embrace an environmentally conscious approach by giving runners the choice of a commemorative coaster instead of a traditional finisher's medal.

The setting is one of the event's biggest attractions. Denstone College provides a spectacular backdrop to race day, while the Churnet Valley Way offers long stretches away from traffic, allowing runners to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Along the route, the occasional distant sounds from nearby Alton Towers provide an unexpected reminder of one of Staffordshire's best-known landmarks.
