Run Beaver Run
Celebrate the return of beavers to the Shropshire countryside with a 5 or 10K race...
To celebrate the imminent arrival of beavers to their new enclosure on the Old River Bed nature reserve next to Shrewsbury's Flaxmill Run UKAC will be hosting the first Beaver Run as part of the Flaxmill Creates Festival on 21 July. Part of a Shropshire Wildlife Trust five-year trial, the secure enclosure will see the furry, semi-aquatic rodents are released this summer.
Open to all ages and abilities, those taking part are invited to walk or run 5K or 10K on an undulating course around the Beaver enclosure with the race starting and finishing at the Flaxmill Creates Festival.
The Flaxmill Creates Festival is three days of live music, performances, street food, beer and much more! The sold out Sunday night is being headlined by Dan Owen, so it is worth noting that each place in the race comes with entry to Sunday's session.
There will also be a medal for all finishers and ptional t-shirts available at an additional cost. Profits from the race will help to fund educational activities to inspire future generations and repairs to protect Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings’ history through the Historic England Foundation.
