Event of the Week

Crieff 10K

Crieff is Calling

Fancy an undulating trail race set in the beautiful Perthshire countryside?

This is a final call to those of you who fancy a shot at this year's Crieff 10K, as entries for the 7 July event are set to close on 22 June if the race is not full before then! Speaking on social media earlier this week, organisers said: "Just ran the route this morning, it’s looking stunning just now, lovely and dry. Hurry and sign up, only 76 places left!"

This is always a popular race, probably because it takes place over one of Scotland's most scenic routes. Starting from Morrison’s Academy sports ground (Dallerie), the course goes out over Laggan Hill and past the Baird Monument before returning along the banks of the River Earn via Lady Mary's Walk.

Once again organisers, Strathearn Harriers, have agreed the use of the facilities at Dallerie for the event and there will be the usual range of post race refreshments complete with home baking. You'll be pleased to hear that there is plenty of parking on offer, and the wee ones will enjoy the junior mile race too.

Speaking about their event, organisers say: "We're confident that you will be able to enjoy one the most scenic, friendliest and best value for money races anywhere, and look forward to seeing you all on the start line this year!"

Prizes will be awarded in male, female, vet and local categories. There will also be an extra prize for breaking the male or female course records, which stand at 32.45 (Robert Gilroy 2014) and 36.58 (Toni McIntosh 2004) respectively.
