Make A May Date With Dunblane
Dunblane's popular 12K road race will run once again in springtime next year...
Dunblane's eternally popular 12K Road Race will return to the Perthshire town in 2025 with a race date of 25 May confirmed. The town's special day of running also includes a 2K Youth Race and is popular with runners looking for a family-focussed day of fitness.
Organisers explain: "In Dunblane, we are passionate about sport and we are keen to get as many adults and young people as possible to take part in our races. Therefore, if you have children aged nine to 15 bring them along and get them involved. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get your kids enthusiastic about sport and encourages them to stay active."
The start and finish lines for the adult race are in the heart of Dunblane High Street and runners will enjoy the incredible all-encompassing route of the 12K course. Taking them past some of Dunblane’s most iconic landmarks including the golden post box, stunning backdrop of the DoubleTree Dunblane Hydro, through the beautiful village of Kinbuck, past Andy Murray’s exclusive Cromlix House Hotel as well as the picturesque views along the Auchenlay Road.
The route is generally flat(ish), with some undulation and a short hill at around four miles. It is mostly on country roads. Those taking part should bear in mind it is not a closed road race and some traffic will be encountered.
The Youth Race is approximately 2K long and follows a mixed surface route starting on Dunblane High Street, routing around the Allan Water, over the Faery Bridge and into Memorial Park, back via Bridgend and finishing near Andy Murray's Gold Post Box.
