10K Back In Skegness
Skegness will see a 10K return to the seaside town in February next year...
Entry will open on Friday (15 November) for the Skegness 10K which will return to the Lincolnshire running calendar on 9 February after a year away. Runners can expect a super flat and fast PB potential course utilises the traffic free seaside location amongst the caravans, starting and finishing in the grounds of Butlins.
Organisers, Curly's Athletes, say: "We're super excited to be helping the return of the Skegness 10K and can't wait to welcome you all for a spot of running. We have just 750 spaces available and there are already 550 on a waiting list, so we think that this event will fill on the day it opens. So be quick!"
Skegness Coasters previously hosted the event and did a sterling job and now Curly's will support its return to the area. A spokesperson said: "We like to help where we can to help keep great running events in our area, these are so important for our existing running community and a great way for people to get active and hopefully discover a love of running!
"So for year one we haven't got a lot of time to develop the event but we are focussed on getting it back and having a great day. We very much plan to grow and develop the race to help support the community further."
Those in charge are finalising the route to make it as spectator friendly as possible and there will be aid stations on route, music throughout and a well deserved medal and tasty treat at the finish line. We've heard a rumour that the medal will celebrate seagulls and chips - sounds interesting!
