Belvoir Challenge

The Foodie's Race

Fancy some stiles, cake, hills, cake, mud, cake?

The Belvoir Challenge has opened for entries with a choice of two distances, generously stocked aid stations and stunning views of the area. Participants will be pushed to their limits on 2 March next year in the Vale of Belvoir whilst raising funds for Harby Primary School.

This event has become a ‘must do’ for many runners and walkers with runners having the option of taking part in the full distance of 26 miles or the shorter one at 15 miles. The course is a mix of road, farmer’s fields, tracks and trails all with a friendly, sociable atmosphere throughout.

It is organised by the Friends of Harby School who fundraise for the school, providing equipment and enabling activities in support of the curriculum for the benefit of the children. The school relies heavily on this event and even more so during the pandemic.

The food and drink is a good reason to enter as is the course with the race well known for its checkpoints and the gastronomic delights that are worthy of a place on the Great British Bake Off! Homemade cakes, chocolate, sandwiches, biscuits and sweets are on the menu along with drinks to keep energy levels topped up especially when navigating claggy sections in the fields.

A previous competitor commented on Facebook: "This race is so epic. You get your race fee (and /or body weight) in food alone!!"
