Christmas (Eve) On The Beach!
This East Lothian festive event is a fantastic option for Christmas Eve...
North Berwick is a fantastic place to visit year round, and even more so this Christmas Eve when it will play host once again to the Santa Beach Run. It could be the perfect way to channel you and your family's festive excitement as it reaches fever pitch on 24 December!
This will be the seventh staging of the popular East Lothian event which is aimed at seasoned athletes, casual runners and families alike, all catered for with three race distances (2K, 5K & 10K) along the scenic coastline.
All races start on the beach near Elcho Green and will go out along the beach to the West of North Berwick and back. Organisers comment: "The route may involve getting your feet wet and climbing over some rocky sections, so please wear appropriate shoes and clothes for wintery conditions."
The The 2K run starts at 9.30am with the 5K and 10K runs following at 10am. The 2K is for all ages however children under 7 years old must be accompanied by an adult, the 5K is for those aged 13 and over and the 10K is for those aged 17 and over.
Speaking about their event, organisers enthused: "We hope that this will be a fun festive occasion - fancy dress is actively encouraged and well behaved dogs on the lead are welcome.
"This year we are raising funds for the charity Diapalante which delivers community education in Senegal. It is open to everyone and provides classes in IT skills, English and French, helping people to find opportunities within their community.
