The 13 Valleys Ultra is a hill and fell running event through the Lake District National Park, with four distances exploring the valleys, lakes and mountain landscapes of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The event ranges from the 21K 2 Valleys Trail to the flagship 184.3K 13 Valleys Ultra, which links all 13 valleys.
Runners can choose the 21K 2 Valleys Trail, 58.4K 5 Valleys Ultra, 110.3K 7 Valleys Ultra or 184.3K 13 Valleys Ultra. The routes feature demanding trail and fell terrain with substantial climbing, culminating in more than 7,000m of elevation on the longest distance. The 2 Valleys and 5 Valleys routes are fully waymarked, while runners on the longer 7 Valleys and 13 Valleys routes must be prepared to navigate using the supplied route information.
All four distances finish in Keswick, with regular checkpoints and feed stations supporting runners across the Lake District terrain. The ultra distances are registered with the International Trail Running Association, while the range of distances provides challenges for experienced mountain ultra runners as well as those taking on a shorter Lake District trail event.
