Festive Runners

Twice As Nice This Christmas

Two fabulous festive events for runners in the Midlands this December...

Grab those elf shoes and get festive because Nice Work have two fabulous events lined up for the Midlands this December in Northants' Salcey Forest and Staff's Cannock Chase. Put your legs to the test in these beautifully scenic, but challenging Christmas runs.

First up is the Cannock Christmas 10K & 5K on 3 December. Here, runners will take to the trail and wind their way through the trees, celebrating the great outdoors and the arrival of the festive season in one, perfect event.

The course takes place mainly on hard track and forest trail and will be gently undulating but with a Christmas gift of 167' climb at 3 & 8K! New for 2023 there will also be an out and back Junior Fun Run of 1.2K - fancy dress is optional but very much encouraged!

On 9 December it is the turn of the Salcey Forest Christmas 10K & 5K. The beautiful, tree-lined paths of Salcey Forest are the venue for this wonderful trail race which is perfect for novices and veterans of the sport alike. Runners will race along the hard-packed trails and, with the route being naturally flat, it is perfect for anyone trying to run a fast time or anyone new to trail running.

Speaking about both events, organisers stress: "Don't forget, seasonal fancy dress is most welcome! Get those Santa hats at the ready, folks!"
