Tiree 10K and Half Marathon 2026

Island Running At Its Finest

Tiree’s iconic beach race returns with record demand and entries already full...

One of Scotland’s most unique running experiences is set to return this spring, as the Tiree 10K and Half Marathon takes place on Saturday 2 May 2026 on the Hebridean island of Tiree.

Set against a backdrop of white sandy beaches, clear waters and open skies, the event offers runners a rare opportunity to race in one of the country’s most scenic and remote locations. The course takes in the east side of the island, starting on the beach and delivering a route that combines coastal roads, fresh sea air and wide open views.

First held in 2006, the race has grown into a highlight of the island’s calendar, attracting runners from across the UK and beyond, all drawn by its combination of natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere.

Demand for 2026 has once again been exceptional, with entries selling out quickly and organisers confirming that the event is now fully booked with no further places or transfers available.

While the race itself is a major draw, the experience goes well beyond the finish line. From the beach start to the post race celebrations and traditional ceilidh in the evening, the event has built a reputation as much for its atmosphere as for its racing.

Open to runners of all abilities, the event continues to balance challenge with enjoyment, whether participants are chasing a time or simply taking in the surroundings.

With its combination of scenery, community spirit and growing popularity, the Tiree 10K and Half Marathon remains one of Scotland’s standout destination races, and one that continues to capture the imagination of runners year after year.
