The Dramathon returns to Speyside on Saturday 17 October 2026, bringing runners to one of Scotland's most distinctive landscapes for a trail festival built around running and whisky.

Four challenges make up the event. The Full Dram covers almost Marathon distance, the Half Dram almost Half Marathon distance, the Wee Dram is slightly longer than 10K and the We Dram allows teams of four to tackle the Full Dram route as a relay.

What connects them is the journey through Speyside whisky country. Routes largely follow the Speyside Way, passing several distilleries before every distance finishes at Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown.

The Full Dram begins at Glenfarclas and uses forest tracks, paths and some short sections of minor road. Half Dram runners start near Tamdhu Distillery before following the River Spey through Aberlour and Craigellachie towards Dufftown.

The Wee Dram begins at Alice Littler Memorial Park in Aberlour. Although not technically difficult, its closing section provides a sting as runners climb gradually from Craigellachie through the Fiddich Valley to Glenfiddich.

Transport is part of the unusual race day logistics, with runners taken by coach from Glenfiddich to their respective start points before making their way back on foot.

There is an appropriately local flavour to the rewards. Finishers receive a medal made from a whisky barrel stave, a Glencairn tasting glass and samples of Speyside single malt whisky.

The organisers have also removed single use plastic cups from food stations, requiring runners to carry their own reusable cup.

With autumn colours, the Speyside Way and some of Scotland's best known distilleries providing the setting, The Dramathon offers a running experience that could hardly belong anywhere else.
