The Talk To Thompsons Linlithgow 10K returns on Sunday 27 September 2026 for the 33rd edition of a race that has become firmly established in the West Lothian running calendar.
First held in 1992, the event is organised entirely by volunteers from Linlithgow Athletic Club and combines competitive road racing with a strong community character.
The 10K starts on Linlithgow High Street at 2:30pm before taking runners through the town, around Linlithgow Loch and onto the Bonnytoun Farm loop. It is an undulating course with enough challenges to make runners work for their finishing time before the race concludes in the historic surroundings of Linlithgow Palace Peel.
Pacers return following their success in previous editions, covering target times from 40 minutes through to 1 hour 5 minutes.
There is plenty of incentive at the sharp end too. Individual and team prizes are available, with £500 awarded to the first senior male and female runners. An additional £500 is on offer for breaking either the men's or women's course record.
The main race is accompanied by a 1.9K Junior Fun Run for youngsters aged eight to 15. Starting shortly after the 10K, its route heads along the High Street towards West Port before continuing beside the loch towards Linlithgow Palace.
Macmillan Cancer Support is the nominated charity for 2026. Runners entering the 10K can choose to receive the event's technical T-shirt or donate its cost to the charity instead.
More than three decades after the first race, Linlithgow Athletic Club's flagship event remains very much a product of its town, its runners and the volunteers who make it happen.
Entries are still available via the runABC race hub here.
