Friday Night Sorted
Take to the trails on this summertime evening race...
What could be nicer than the prospect of an evening trail race on a sunny Friday night? Taking place at 7pm on Friday 7 June, Dundee Roadrunners' Templeton Trail Race will see runners take on a 5.5 mile race in Templeton Woods.
Organisers say: "The race is a modest introduction to trail racing, run mostly on well-defined park paths, but with some trail path and short climbs. The race is intended as a fun introduction to trail running and is open to anyone over 18 years and over."
The route is approximately 5.5 miles in and around Templeton Woods and will be marked with tape and flour, and there will also be marshals at the route junctions.
After the race those taking part can look forward to refreshments in the Visitors Centre and a 'wonderful spread' will be provided at the picnic area.
In 2023 there were close to 100 runners with James Donald of Dundee Hawkhill Harriers taking first male in a time of 30:58 the fastest female was Mairi-Anne Miller in 42:58.
Speaking about the event start area, organisers say: "Please car share where possible as there will be no parking at the Visitors Centre but limited car parking available at the Clatto Centre. You could also park in Camperdown Park and jog over to the start which is around a mile."
