Still Time To Ace It In Accrington

Make a date at the Accrington 10K this Halloween...

Got any Halloween plans yet? A no-brainer for runners in Lancashire, the Accrington 10K (30 October) is still open for entries... but you'll need to be quick to toe the line in this classic and ever popular race as there's less than a week 'til entries close!

This is the 36th running of the race and following on from previous years' successes and its unfortunate cancellation in 2021, organisers are determined to make this year bigger and better than ever before. The word on the street is that if you've never taken part before then 2022 is certainly the year to do so!

The 10K course has a grandstand finish with the last 1.5 miles providing runners with a fast descent. This undulating 10K road race allows runners to take in the scenery during the initial two mile ascent up Burnley Road Altham. But remember, ‘what goes up, must come down!’.

Speaking about the route, organisers comment: "The route is heavily marshalled throughout the race, which allows you to race through urban areas without worrying about the traffic. The reward comes at 4.5 miles as you start your grandstand descent to the finishing line, where you will be greeted and cheered by our enthusiastic supporters."

There will also be a junior race on the day and all those taking part in the day's events can look forward to a bespoke finishers' medal and a goodie bag. It's always nice to know that you can fill your belly post race, and that is taken care of at the Accrington 10K courtesy of the Walton Arms where food and drinks will be on sale before, during and after the race.
