The city of York came alive at the weekend as thousands of fun runners, charity fundraisers and club runners, came together to take part in the 2022 Yorkshire Marathon Festival; featuring the Yorkshire Marathon, Yorkshire 10 Mile and Yorkshire Marathon Relay.

Attracted by the opportunity to run through York’s historic and leafy streets, runners from across the UK and beyond came to take part in the hugely popular running festival, soaking up the atmosphere and legendary Yorkshire support all the way to the finish line on University Road.

Large and enthusiastic crowds created a tremendous atmosphere as they cheered participants of all ages and abilities along the picturesque and historic route and across the finish line. Runners at this year’s Yorkshire Marathon Festival were spurred on by various course music and charity cheering zones, to ensure a celebratory atmosphere throughout.
