One More Lap!
Push your limits at this charity-minded endurance event...
The endurance challenge One More Lap is back this autumn, raising funds once again for Warrington Youth Zone. The 12-hour team event takes place at Cheshire Polo Club, Tarporley, on 14 September, running from 8am until 8pm.
More than 25 teams of four to six runners are expected to take on the challenge of completing 'just one more lap' before the sun sets. All money raised will go towards Warrington Youth Zone, a local charity that gives young people the chance to explore their passions and find their purpose in a safe, supportive environment.
With a short, flat and open course, organisers say the event is as much a battle of mental resilience as it is of physical endurance. Each lap brings competitors back past the event camp, where they must decide whether to stop or push on for another round.
The format ensures there is something for everyone. While competitive teams will be chasing the top of the leaderboard for the most laps, others will be running or walking at their own pace. Prizes will be awarded not only for most laps and most money raised but also for best dressed, with past entrants including inflatable dinosaurs.
As in previous years, One More Lap will have the feel of a running festival, with music, food and drink, and plenty of support from friends and family at the camp. Entry is free, with teams asked to commit to fundraising for the cause, ensuring that every step helps Warrington’s young people.
