No Trick, This Spooky Half Is A Real Treat

There's still time to treat yourself a space at the ever-popular Worksop Halloween Half Marathon...

Spooky season is upon us, I only have to take a run up my street and already pumpkins are sitting on the neighbourhood doorsteps. And with Halloween falling on a Sunday this year, it means runners can creep themselves into a PB-worthy performance on fright night itself!

A quick glance over runABC North’s race listing for October shows a splattering of gory events scheduled for the 31st, but catching our eye for all the right reasons is the long-standing Worksop Halloween Half Marathon

Organised by Worksop Harriers & AC and established in 1982, the Worksop Halloween Half Marathon (also known as ‘the scenic one’) takes place on the last Sunday in October every year. The course runs largely through Nottinghamshire’s pretty Clumber Park. This location provides beautiful scenery and is perfect for spectators to support family and friends along the route.

Organisers of the race commented: “In recent years, our Halloween themed event has proved extremely popular for both runners and spectators alike, with many competitors wearing fancy dress and creating a wonderful atmosphere in the race village and throughout the race itself.

“Our wonderful band of volunteers work tirelessly throughout the year to ensure that a safe and enjoyable event is provided for all.”

On Facebook, previous entrant Alex Kilner commented: “This is an excellent HM. I ran it in 2019. I can recommend it to anyone interested who hasn't done it before.”

If you want to take part in this ghoulishly good run, there are still some places available
