Scenic course and sea air at the Humber Coastal Half Marathon

Back on the waterfront for the Humber Coastal Half

Sun, sea and maybe a PB at this scenic event

Treat yourself this Easter and enter the Humber Coastal Half Marathon from Tape2Tape Events which takes place on 18 September. Held in the seaside resort of Cleethorpes with a fast and flat course, coastal views and cheering spectators as you race along the prom to the finish.

The ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon & 5K has something for everyone whatever their ability with a day at the seaside into the bargain. This event is a keen supporter of the RNLI and rather appropriately, their base is acting as the Race HQ.

Half Marathon runners have a picturesque route on closed roads to look forward to. Starting from near Cleethorpes Leisure Centre at 10am, it continues on the flat towards the Haven Holiday Camp where runners complete a loop before exiting and on to Teteny Lock. An off-road section along the grassy Humber Bank then into the Fitties Holiday Park before leaving that for the Humber Bank again. Runners continue along a short sandy section then along the historic coastal footpath to the promenade and the finish line on the sea front.

There are pacers in the Half Marathon to help runners chasing a PB.

The 5K course includes a lap through the Meridian Showground, a short grassy section, the coastal footpath and best of all, a final push along the promenade to the finish.

Finishers in both races receive a medal, tech t-shirt and cake – the latter always helps with post-race recovery....that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Entries opened last Thursday 14 April but it's always popular so don't delay.

There is a virtual option for anyone unable to take part.
