Earn Yourself A Six Pack
There’s a new and unique fitness challenge for runners in the north west…
The virtual challenges of lockdown may have run their course, so to speak, but if an event has a clever spin on the virtual format then we reckon it will be here to stay. A healthy sporting legacy from the gloomy days of lockdown shall we say…
The SixPack Marathon Challenge is one of these smart ideas. A collection of six bespoke routes of varying distances that together comprise the full marathon distance of 42.2kms. You can complete any or all of the selected routes for a single entry fee but the striking Sixpack Marathon medal only goes to those who complete all six challenging courses.
And the good news is that there are now four locations in the north west of the country - Greater Manchester south and north, Macclesfield and Northwich. All of these locations have six fantastic routes offering a stunning variety of terrain, trail and distance.
Greater Manchester South's routes span from Hyde to Sale with some stunning multi-terrain routes that organisers promise are 'Premier League quality'! The sense of fun that comes with this event is evident in the names of the routes...
- Lock Up & Go 8K: Marple Bridge
- Gotta Go Goyt 6K: Woodbank Park, Stockport
- Flat, For Sale 10K: Sale Water Park
- Run Happy 6K: Bramhall Hall
- Doing It In Styal 5K: Wilmslow
- Hyde and Seek 7K: Hyde
Each entry receives access to route mapping technology via the RunGo App, with turn-by-turn navigation of all the courses, including a voice-guided tour and an encouraging halfway reminder.
Whether you choose to walk, jog or run, you have the freedom to complete the routes in whatever sequence you choose and whenever you want.
