Inov8 Arrives In York

Inov8 opens new store and coffee shop in York city centre...

Trail running brand, Inov8,opened the doors of its brand new store on York's High Ousegate at the weekend (16 March). The store will sell Inov8 shoes, clothing and equipment for runners, hikers and gym enthusiasts and there will also be an in-store coffee shop, providing a base for a wide range of activities, including social runs, yoga classes, film screenings and guest speaker events.

To celebrate the opening, a social group 10K run is being organised from the store on 24 March, with all invited. Meeting at 10am, the group will be joined on the run by Inov8's record-breaking trail runner Jack Scott, who’ll then share his secrets to success in a post-run Q&A over coffee and snacks.

In January, Scott won the 268-mile Spine Race ultramarathon along the Pennine Way, from Edale, Derbyshire, to Kirk Yetholm, in the Scottish Borders. He did so in 72hrs 55mins, breaking the course record by 10 hours!

Founded 21 years ago, Inov8 is based in the Lake District and trades in more than 50 countries worldwide. York is its second city store, coming a month after the brand opened retail doors in Sheffield. Prior to that there were stores launched in Staveley (Lake District), Crook (County Durham) and Bakewell (Peak District).

Inov8's James Nettleton said: “We couldn’t be more excited to open our store in York. Ever since announcing our arrival in the city, we have had an incredible response. Local runners, clubs, gyms and community organisations have reached out with so many inspiring ideas for collaborations and partnerships. This confirms what we always thought about York. It’s a place teeming with people who share our passions for running, the outdoors and training.

“We hope people will use the store not just as a shop, but also as a gathering place before and after runs, hikes and gym sessions. All are welcome and excellent coffee awaits.”
